Each year, we hold a workshop for maternal health community-based organizations and community birth workers to share their one-of-kind programs that are providing care and support for moms, birthing people, and their families in their immediate communities.
The Enhancing Community Resilience to Improve Maternal Health workshop is a half-day workshop that provides a space for community-based organizations to share their best practices and lessons learned on special topics in the maternal health constellation.
2023
The 3rd annual Enhancing Community Resilience to Improve Maternal Health: Increasing Access to Maternity Care Services was held virtually and in-person in Kansas City, MO.March for Moms elevated innovative programs from community-based organizations that are increasing access to maternity care services for moms & birthing people in the United States.
Innovative programs from community-based organizations was amplified and led to rich discussion. The featured organizations at this year’s workshop were:

- Ujima Maternity Network
- Uzazi Village
- Village of Healing Circle
- Southern Birth Justice Network
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Bayo Curry-Winchell, shared her inspiring journey in this work and solutions to address the health inequities faced by BIPOC communities and the solutions to address them.
2022
The Enhancing Community Resilience to Improve Maternal Health workshop focused on Elevating Community-Led Solutions for Postpartum Support in Boston, MA. Five organizations from across the United States shared innovative programs on providing postpartum care such as a teen outreach & breastfeeding program, maternal mental health, a basic income program for families, full-spectrum doula support, and more. The virtual Enhancing Community Resilience to Improve Maternal Health workshop focused on Preparing and Responding to Natural Disasters and organizations represented from different parts of the country shared their dynamic programs to meet the needs of their communities in the aftermath of climate events.
